Neighborhood History Tours
The Southwest Partnership Historic Preservation Committee organized neighborhood history tours in Franklin Square, Poppleton, and Hollins Roundhouse this fall. Led by community members the tours were an opportunity to learn about each neighborhood, visit important places, and share stories about the past. Highlights included Franklin Square Park and St Luke’s Church, Hollins Market and the Arabber Stables, and Sarah Ann Street one of the oldest homes for free black families in Baltimore. Members of the Committee also led a tour for incoming students at the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
