Fall 2016 Greening Projects

The Safe, Vibrant, and Walkable Streets Committee continued its greening efforts this fall, planting trees and landscaping the B&O Museum triangle lot at the intersections of Cross and James Streets and Arlington Ave.

Over the course of six weeks of planting, the Committee planted more than fifty street trees in Union Square, Hollins Roundhouse, Poppleton, Franklin Square, and Mount Clare. We also restored the original Olmstead Brothers design for Franklin Square Park by planting species of trees originally called for in the plan in their locations in the park. Thanks to Tree Baltimore for all their help in finding the proper species!
