Hey, My name is Quasia, or Asia for short. I am a new social work intern at the Southwest Partnership and a recent graduate from Morgan State University. I’m also a current graduate student at University of Maryland Baltimore.
I was born and raised in Baltimore near Carrolton and Edmondson Avenue. I remember growing up near and walking down to Mount Clare Junction or Hollins Market with my mom and siblings on the weekends. The neighborhood hasn’t changed a lot from what I remember even though the house that I used to live in is now rubble.
Those memories are what made me interested in the housing and commercial development aspect of the SWP community because I would like to see the community develop and flourish as much as some of the surrounding communities have over the years. In addition to the Commercial Development and Housing Committees, I will be working closely with the Education and Workforce Development Committee on many of their upcoming projects.
I look forward to working in the community and getting to know community members.
